Tony Maas is WWF-Canada’s Freshwater Director. He leads the overall design and delivery of our freshwater program, and advocates WWF-Canada’s positions and perspectives on fresh water in the media, in government relations and in partnerships with various stakeholders. He is an active member and former co-chair on the Forum for Leadership on Water (FLOW), a collaborative of Canadian water experts
(www.flowcanada.org).
Tony joined WWF-Canada in September 2007 after spending five years as a research analyst with the Water Sustainability Project at the University of Victoria’s POLIS Project on Ecological Governance. He has studied Environmental Technology at Fanshawe
College in London, Ontario, Environmental Science at Royal Roads University in Victoria, and water governance at the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo.
Tony’s work is inspired by the time he spends paddling Canada’s lakes and rivers with his wife Carol, and by his desire to share these experiences with his young son Esrael.
