Director, Climate and Energy Program
Josh Laughren
Joshua Laughren joined WWF-Canada in 1997 to lead the development of the Marine Program as a key conservation program for the organization. After nearly ten years as Marine Conservation Director, in 2006 Josh took on the role of Director, Communications for the organization. His proudest moments in marine conservation include helping protect the Gully, off the coast of Nova Scotia, as a Marine Protected Area, helping move shipping lanes in the Bay of Fundy to protect endangered right whales, and helping support new legislation to protect wildlife from illegal dumping of bilge oil. While he is now more often seen working with websites than whales, his passion remains with Canada's oceans and coasts.
His past experience includes environmental management and education, including as Manager, Education and Environmental Affairs, for the CN Tower in Toronto. Josh has a B.Sc. (Hon) in Biology from the University of Guelph.
