Our campaigns

Nowhere else on Earth do so few people steward so many resources as in Canada. This wealth of land, fresh water and diverse wildlife is a source of pride and an integral part of our communities. However, these resources are at risk. But Canadians currently have the seventh largest footprint on the planet. If everyone on Earth consumed as much as Canadians, it would take three Earths to meet the demand.

WWF-Canada hopes to inspire the public to live more sustainably. We aim to foster communities where Canadians are empowered to make decisions and take actions – such as driving less, buying local and sustainably sourced food, and reducing energy consumption – that reduce their impact on the planet. This means engaging Canadians in our conservation work, providing them with opportunities to speak out about the environment, and supporting the public in making greener consumer and business choices.

We work to mobilize Canadians at home, in geographically diverse communities, at work, at school, offline, and online. This collective action fosters civic dialogue and helps send a powerful message to government and other important influencers. Our decisions symbolize a call to action for businesses and governments to do their part in leading Canada toward a healthy and sustainable future. Learn more about the Green CommUnity program.
