2016 David Lin Memorial Award Recipient
In 2015, Alice volunteered at her second CN Tower Climb. Knowing that she was familiar with the Climb and the various volunteer stations, Alice was asked to assist at the volunteer check-in/out area. This meant arriving early (4:30am!) to check in the hundreds of volunteers and staying late afterwards to ensure the volunteers received their recognition gift on check-out. Despite the long days and the early hours, Alice remained incredibly cheerful, friendly and welcoming.
In June of 2015, Alice had to discontinue her shift with the Donor Relations team because of work obligations. Wanting to stay connected with WWF, Alice volunteered with the Sustainability at Work committee where she assisted with research remotely and an employee engagement campaign after hours.
Alice continued volunteering with us this year. In January, she helped reach out to past CN Tower climbers and in April she once again returned to volunteer at the CN Tower Climb at the volunteer check-in/out. In addition to volunteering at the Climb, Alice also rallied 20 employees from her company to form a team to participate in the Team Challenge. Her team helped raise over $3800! (And of course, Alice was the highest fundraiser on her team).
WWF is truly blessed to have volunteers like Alice. Her tireless dedication and support are an inspiration to everyone.
